NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

2010 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND REVENUE SOURCES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Grandview, Washington will conduct a public hearing on Monday, November 2, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at Grandview City Hall, 207 West Second Street, Grandview, WA, to consider the revenue sources for the 2010 Current Expense Fund budget which will include consideration of possible increases in property tax revenues together with the proposed ordinance levying taxes in the amount of $1,355,000 for the regular levy and $87,000 for the excess levy--the proposed Operating Revenue for the Current Expense Fund is $4,605,350.

The public is invited to attend this hearing and provide written and oral comments on the proposed revenue sources, to include property tax revenues for the 2010 Current Expense Fund budget.  If you are unable to attend this public hearing, written comments will be received until 5:00 p.m. the day of the hearing.

CALL FOR BIDS FOR OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Grandview, Washington, will receive sealed bids at the office of the City Clerk, 207 West Second Street, Grandview, WA 98930, until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2009, from qualified legal newspapers to serve as the OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER of the City of Grandview for the year 2010, at which time they will be opened and read aloud.

Bids must comply with the "Specifications for Sealed Bids for Official Newspaper@ and be submitted in envelopes marked "Official Newspaper Bid".  Bid packets are available from the City Clerk at the above address, PH: (509) 882-9208.

The City of Grandview reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, and to waive minor irregularities in the bidding process.

NOTICE OF FILING AND PUBLIC HEARING

2010 PRELIMINARY BUDGET

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mayor of the City of Grandview has filed the 2010 Preliminary Budget with the City Clerk.  Copies of the Preliminary Budget were available to the public on Wednesday, October 23, 2009 at City Hall, 207 West Second Street, Grandview, Washington.

The City Council will conduct a Public Hearing on the 2010 Preliminary Budget at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, November 16, 2009.  The public is invited to attend this hearing and provide written and oral comments on the proposed Budget.  The hearing will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall.  If you have a disability for which you will need reasonable accommodations, please contact the City Clerk, at the preceding address or telephone (509) 882-9208 one week prior to the meeting.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the City Council in the council chambers located at City Hall, 207 West Second Street, Grandview, WA, on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.  The purpose of the public hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from low- and moderate-income persons and persons residing in the City of Grandview.  Up to $1.5 million may be available to the City of Grandview on a statewide competitive basis to fund public facility, community facility, economic development, housing rehabilitation, and planning projects that principally benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) persons.  A Spanish language interpreter will be available.  The Grandview City Hall is handicap accessible.  Additional arrangements to reasonably accommodate special needs will be made upon receiving 24-hour advance notice.  Contact City Clerk Anita Palacios at (509) 882-9208, located at Grandview City Hall at 207 West Second Street.  If the City of Grandview chooses to apply for CDBG funding, the draft application for the CDBG proposal will be available for review at the Grandview City Hall between Friday, January 1, 2010 and Thursday, January 14, 2010 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.  Comments may also be submitted in writing to the City of Grandview, 207 West Second Street, Grandview, WA 98930 until Friday, January 15, 2010 at 4:30 p.m.
