The government of the City of Grandview is vested in a Mayor and seven Council members, all of whom are elected for a four-year term. The City Council is responsible for making all policy relative to the operation of the City, enacting ordinances and resolutions, conducting public hearing, and responding to the public's needs. Council Meetings
Council meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesday each month beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Grandview City Hall, 207 West Second Street. Special meetings may be held with a minimum of 24 hour notice, pursuant to RCW 42.30.080. The Public is welcome and encouraged to take part in these meetings. Notice of all public hearings, regular and special meetings are sent in the Grandview Herald.
Flag Salute Leaders
Students from Grandview's elementary schools are chosen to lead the flag salute at the beginning of each City Council meeting. Click here to view photos.
Youth of the Month
Mayor Childress, the City Council, Youth Advisory Board, and Parks and Recreation Department have a special monthly awards program to recognize the youth of Grandview that are demonstrating outstanding citizenship and exceptional pride in their community. Nominations can be made by any citizen at-large to be turned into the Parks and Recreation Office. These nominations are forwarded to the Youth Advisory Board which make a final recommendation to Mayor Childress.
